1 Corinthians 12:4-11
4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5 and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; 6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. 7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8 For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.
There are varieties of spiritual gift, services and activities that were given and distributed to empower each and everyone of us by God, the giver of all of these varieties, according to His perfect will.
God acknowledged our differences. He knew our very strengths and weaknesses. If He called us to serve Him, which is indeed a privilege, He definitely supplies what we need to be helpful to the ministry we are being assigned to.
Many have their inhibitions to serve for they look at it as a burden, consuming what they are enjoying in the comfort of their time, treasures and talents. To others, they were halted to response to the call of God to serve because of many spiritual entropies about themselves.
God always initiate the giving, offering and sacrifices so that we will abide and do the same. And just like what Abraham said, “God will provide for Him a sacrifice or an offering.” Those who serve Him in obedience will lack nothing to offer to God because He himself will provide. When you have been commissioned, your cup will be filled and will be satisfied.
I encourage everyone, and as Pastor Dong’s wisdom shared in us, “We go to the church to serve God. And serving God is both an opportunity and a privilege.” Also, remember Paul’s declaration, “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. -Romans 11:29”
I pray for God’s gift and calling be revealed to you in vision, in revelation, and in action! God bless you all!
