Ephesians 5:15-21
15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, 20 giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.
If we are in Melbourne, tonight is going to be the start of a long weekend, moreover, term 3 school holiday is in the middle of its first week. With the festival spirit for the Footy Final this Saturday, most of footy fans are really eyeing for the two grand final teams to win.
As the festival spirit keeps burning, I would like to commend everyone in the FBGC Point Cook for all your contributions, supports, and services to this part of the Body of Christ as we are also ending the third quarter of this year. I have seen lots of improvements to individual growth in their faith, moreover, the strengthening of the Body of Christ in general.
Allow me to thank you all for giving your time, talents and treasure as you live in faithfulness and obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ, His Gospel, and His mission to seek and save the people who are lost (Luke 19:10). I highly respect you for your spirit-filled services without grumbling or hesitations and unselfish pleasing sacrifices to the King of all kings.
My encouragement to each of you is the same with Apostle Paul’s advises to the church in Ephesus, read Ephesians 5:15-21. Do not neglect to continue to serve God as the Holy Spirit desires to accomplish the Will of God in the lives of everyone. Let us continue to be excited and take every opportunity to speak well of each other, respecting the very nature of our creation and valuing the sacredness of God’s gift to each of us.
Let us walk carefully in the manner that we are called for. We were called to be righteous, therefore, be alert to everything we think, speak, and act. Make sure that we only give glory to the God, the Father Almighty, through the grace of Jesus Christ our Lord.
I believe that God is doing something great more than we can imagine. As we plan for this year as Year of Transformation and this month is our month for Metamorphosis, we are heading into a greater calling to serve in God’s greater purpose and will over the lives of everyone.
This year we have witnessed people who have submitted to God’s ordinances (such as communion and baptism of water); some have raise hand to hold posts to work in the vineyard of God, some have stand up to lead the people of God in training and teaching the Word of God; some have step up to commit in righteous living and leaving the old self to die.
With these transformation, this Body of Christ is in Metamorphosis indeed. The exciting part is the new image to be revealed once this process has ended. Personally, I can see a vision of each member of this Body of Christ is forming to be a life transforming mustard seed being planted in rich garden soil cultivated by the Almighty Gardener, nurtured by His Gracious Son, and prospered by Works of Holy Spirit that we all becoming a tree deeply rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ where birds of the air come to make a nest (Luke 13:19).
Be excited, as the earth has its own seasons and so are we. Seasons of harvest is coming, and the harvest is plentiful, indeed. As God shows our harvest field, let us all join together and share the Great News to be in the humble service to the Kingdom of God. As Paul says, walk as Wise and not Unwise in these days.
Have a Great Long Weekend and God bless you all
