Spiritual Gifts Are Free Gifts

Acts 8: 18-23 18  Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money,  19  saying, "Give me this power also, so that anyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit."  20  But Peter said to him, "May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!  21  You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.  22  Repent, therefore, of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, the intent of your heart may be forgiven you.  23  For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity." All disciples of Jesus have given the power from God through the Holy Spirit. This is something Jesus had told us that He will send us an advocate or a helper and He will teach us with righteousness and will help us to remember everything that He taught us. The Holy Spirit will give us po

Pursue The Godly Passions

Jude 1:17-25 “17 But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. 18 They said to you, "In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions." 19 It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit.  20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. 22 And have mercy on those who doubt; 23 save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh. 24 Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, 25 to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” As we all

Am I Born of God?

1 John 5:18 - We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him. For any kind of relationship, commitment is of great importance. Without such, there is a tendency to fail to abide in each others covenant. This is not different in every Christian. We are in a marriage with Christ as the Head and we as His wife and family. His redemption, death, and resurrection —- the Gospel of Salvation, is our only way to be born from above (a.k.a Born Again or Born of God) that whoever have faith in Jesus will have the promise of eternal life. This is a promise that God cannot void by Himself as He is faithful and true all the time. But not in ours, as we are always stumbling in every temptations in our ways and ending up sinning against God. Apostle John has given us a great reminder to any man who were Born of God to keep away from sinning. This is the kind of identity (the true bap

Excel In The Act Of Grace

“But as you excel in everything, in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you, see that you excel in this act of grace also.” -2 Corinthians 8:7 Grace is something we (the disciple of Christ) have taken for granted most of the time and is being neglected in the ministry where we belong. We thought that as we have been called to God’s Kingdom, we are in no way be recipient of grace from our fellow brethren,    of which we are the least to do wrong or to make a wrong decision to hurt us. Though Apostle Paul is referring to the act of giving, he explicitly qualifies that in variation it is an act of grace as well. This simply means that Grace is indeed a Gift. Any form of giving is a form of grace, just like Jesus when given to us is also the Grace of God for those who freely received it.  Having legalistic view of many organised processes, acceptable practices, and forceful doctrinal beliefs; threatens (if not avoiding) the value of grace. God Is Close To Us Even If We Think He Isn’t

Psalm 34:17-18 17  When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.  18  The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.  Many of us, no matter how mature our Walk of Faith in Christ is, have various troubles in life in one way or another. It is an inevitable experience along with our journey with or without God. But I would say that more troubles escalating to worst stages if without the covering of God. The psalmist proclaim in Psalm 34:17-18 that with God, we can definitely have our greatest privilege to access present help when needed. However, we have to approach Him. He is always ready to extend His helping hand to those who cry out to Him. We do not need a mediator other than our Lord Jesus Christ, whose the only way towards the Father in Heaven (John 14:6). It is too easy for us to forget this great privilege and feel that God is too far from us when we think we needed His deliverance. The psalm

Sin No More

John 5:14- Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, "See, you are well! Sin no more, that nothing worse may happen to you." Jesus after seeing the person He healed in the temple where he currently present as well, gives a very important command to a person who received mercy from Him and followed with a warning. In God’s sovereignty, He always have a choose to whom He wants to give mercy and grace and this disabled man is one of them. (Read the whole story in John 5:1-17.) We are blessed enough to know that even anyone who do not have direct relationship or even faith in Jesus can be healed as He found pleasing to Him to grant mercy. But He wants these recipients of mercy to walk in His righteousness. He wants them not to sin no more. Though we are sinner by nature, with obedience and submission to God and with the help of The Holy Spirit, we will be able to overcome sin, by wearing the full Armour of God Ephesians 6:10-20. But Jesus warns

The Unity and Humility In Pursuit of Identity in Christ

Philippians 2:1-5 1 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. 5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Thanks be to God, it's Friday again! I pray and hope that everyone truly bear the identity of Christ in our lives as we all imitate Him in all aspects of our lives. Some have just encountered some problems in their works, finances, relationships, studies, etc; and yet, our neighbors have noticed the joy is radiating from us and remain positive despite of the mood of these situation. I firmly believe, because we kee

Christ’s Disciples Must Be Taught Of Him

Jesus commissioning words in  Matthew 28:18-20  before He ascended to heaven gives us the assurance of our faith in Him, the mission He instructed for us to focus on, the responsibilities of every disciple, and the promises accompanied for those who will give their lives to Him.  Matthew 28:18-20 18  And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  19  Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  20  teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." A. Assurance of our FAITH in Jesus Jesus make sure that He bears the full authority from God as the Saviour of every human soul, that anyone who will believe will not doubt to His divinity, but of great assurance that He was the promised Messiah with all the prophecies from the Old Testaments scriptures to the fulfilment of

Be Different Than A Devil’s Faith

James 2:14-26      14  What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15  If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16  and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? 17  So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.      18  But someone will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19  You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! 20  Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? 21  Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? 22  You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works; 23  and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, &qu

Let Us Enter God’s Rest

I hope that everyone has enjoyed this lovely day. Finally we are feeling the warmth of the Sun in the Mid of Spring season. Thanks be to God for this reminds us that there are different ways to gaze the beauty of God’s creation in every season. This morning I was reading the book of Hebrews Chapter 3 and 4 , focusing on importance of REST given by God to mankind. And there is truly a very solid wisdom God is showing us when we read these passages from the Book of Hebrews and how we can get to to reach God’s Rest. In Genesis 2:3 , “ So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation. ” However, God has warned His people that they will not enter God’s rest. In Hebrews 4:5 , And again in this passage he said, "They shall not enter my rest. " Is God talking about a different kind of rest? Is He not the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow? God’s Rest defined from the beginning as the day
