Abide in Christ Teaching

2 John 1:9-11
9 Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, 11 for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.
Today’s generations are taking advantage of many products brought by intellectual revolution where the mind of men is being replicated through the use of computers. Indeed, computers means our identities and personal information are stored in it commonly known as personal data. Data is considered more precious than gold nowadays to bad guys of the virtual world.
Though computers are far from perfection and full of many vulnerabilities for any attack for its destruction, it continuous to survive and dynamically progressing to become adaptable to modern and emerging threats from malicious activities such as hacking of personal information. But that does not happen overnight and without continuous learning, discovering, and practicing security measures.
In the same way with Christ Identity in us, we are His created beings who were specifically designed to do His will. Indeed, we are created in His image. With God’s saving grace, we were restored to our newly created state to once again to perform and to act as we were designed for, which is to do the Will of God in our lives.
Like computers, we are not exempted from any possible infections from the advancement of modern ideologies and distorted interpretations of the Gospel of Christ so that we will not perform as the Lord has designed us from the very beginning (refer to Ephesians 2:10)
Apostle John has warned us, that abiding in Christ teaching keeps the identity of Christ Jesus and the Father Almighty remain in us. If and only if we are carefully learning and following the teaching of Jesus, we will keep ourselves abreast from all the deceitfulness of the devil to destroy us.
John told us to be vigilant not to easily believe the teachings that can simply satisfy our itchy ears as what Paul advice to us as well in 2 Timothy 4:3-4:
“For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.”
We have to avoid these kind of teachers that we may not become a partaker of such wickedness. This is the beginning of infection that when not treated will consume us and destroy completely. While there is still a time, apply the security updates God has already provided for His most special creation (US) which is abiding in all the teaching of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.
This Choose Day, let us challenge ourselves to know Jesus Teaching from this day forward until it becomes part of our Identity in Christ. Have a beautiful evening and God blesses us the Spirit of Discernment in everything we do.

Paul's Description Of A False Teacher

(Midweek Devotion, 1 Timothy 6:3-5 - 04 Oct 2023) 1 Timothy 6:3-5 3  If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, 4  he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. Shared Responsibility: Do Not Be A Stumble Block

During my advanced military training way back on my university days, we were thought of the very common principle “Obey first, before you complain.” This discipline has embedded to me and I allow myself to submit to any person that has authority over me, most especially to our God.
