James 1:2-4
2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
A wonderful evening to all, my fellow brethren and labourers in the vineyard of God. I am sharing you this passage from Apostle James, the brother of Jesus, to remind us that in the times of trials which may test our faith our spiritual attitude and character plays a great role to overcome it.
One of the most vulnerable aspects of our lives when we are in the midst of difficult situations is our emotions. We may not know, but our emotional state can contribute to the decision made by our spiritual being. If we are not careful, the spirit of discernment may be lacking and it may lead us from sinning against God.
That is why James wants us to count trial as joy, in other word, consider every troubles in life as joyful moment. Like James, I firmly believe that these kinds of situations which reveals the state of our faith as we abide in Christ. Just like the gold when purified in fire, our lives in faithfulness to Christ is also revealed in every trials we face especially when faith is direly affected.
Our steadfastness in these situations produces perfection and completion of Christ righteousness in us, one glory after another. As we consider our devotional scripture this Thirst Day, let us “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. -Philippians 4:4” even if trials is actively in front of us.
Peace be upon us and His present help be with us especially when direly needed. Have a great evening to all victorious children of God!
God bless you all!
