Luke 13:10-17
10 Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. 11 And behold, there was a woman who had had a disabling spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not fully straighten herself. 12 When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said to her, "Woman, you are freed from your disability." 13 And he laid his hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and she glorified God. 14 But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the people, "There are six days in which work ought to be done. Come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day." 15 Then the Lord answered him, "You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger and lead it away to water it? 16 And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?" 17 As he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame, and all the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by him.
How are we in our Bible Verse challenge? Today is day 14 and we are now 10 days left to finish the bible reading in the Book of Luke. There are many wisdom being thought afresh and reminded to us as we continue and put this in our hearts.
I just want to share you guys one experience of a woman who had a disabling spirit for 18 years and have been freed from it through the compassion and mercy of our Lord Jesus. She might have lose hope on receiving a cure from her troubled soul but God sees her on the day when everyone wish to be on their rest days.
There I have been reminded how important more to gather together on our Sabbath to serve one another. Just like Jesus, He takes Sabbath as the most important day for healing. A day where people wants to enter the rest of God and yet not being freed from any bondage of sins, troubles and problems in our lives.
I always love the to see the day to serve God and His great people no matter what the state of my self; whether I am in need or not, whether I or my family battling sickness, whether my funds are low or high, whether my heart is crying or rejoicing, whether my relationship with people is at peace or at war, and many more. For I believe, these are but a facade that the devil uses to avoid the opportunity to be healed in any of our spiritual bondages regardless of how long it has been with us.
If we haven’t mastered the breaking through of our bondages, we still have not seen the real Jesus in our lives. We still have not allowed Him to lay His healing hands on us. We still not entering a true rest (Matthew 11:28-30) that only Him can give as we continue to abide in Him. We are missing the opportunity to be free from any disabilities in our spirit.
And if we still not embracing ourselves as His blessed Children, we will not see Him fully. I leave to you Jesus encouragement to us in His own word in Luke 13:36 - “Behold, your house is forsaken. And I tell you, you will not see me until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!'"
May all of us mastered the freedom God can only give as we enter His rest!
Have a great weekend and God bless us all!!!
