Luke 6:47-48
47 Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: 48 he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.
In recent events from different parts of the world, there are varieties of natural disasters happening in this world. In Philippines, we know that earthquakes becoming a norms in Mindanao region and 20-30 different levels of Typhoons crossing it annually. While here in Australia, there are droughts across many farmlands while bush fires are increasing and aggravating resulting to destruction of many houses and lives.
If we are a homeowners, we tend to keep our homes as safe and protected as we can from any of destruction brought by these calamities both physically and spiritually. Attending to the needs of our respective homes, keeping it a better place for ourselves and our loved ones, and an enjoyable sanctuary for rest and recreations.
However, is our home prone to any forms of disasters? Maybe Yes. Maybe No. it all depends on its foundation, constructions materials used, and maintenance. To some they want the risk of disasters like these be transferred to others by getting a home and/or contents insurance. In reality, all homes are meant for destruction especially when it met every disastrous event.
This is not far from us, as we walk in our faith in Christ Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. His promise of an UNBREAKABLE SPIRIT is with those who COME to Him, HEAR His Words, and DOES them. These three important actions should continue to exercise by every disciples of Christ that we may have disaster proofed lives. Destruction are not meant for those who abide in Christ Jesus.
Coming to Jesus invites His Rest so that we will always be excited to bring His presence in our respective lives. Hearing His Words attends to the very need of our lives - He is our bread, our living water, our breath of life, our shelter of hope and our cloth of purity. Doing His Words keeps us to His righteousness that we may endure everything even in the face of destruction.
Jesus clearly shown us, the lives of every believer is not free from any destruction. But just like what He did in ark made by Noah, He SEALED it that there will be no opportunity for disaster to cause destruction to any lives within it. That is the same promise He gave to everyone of us today.
There is no need to worry of many adversaries in lives, we only have to keep in our minds to COME to Jesus, HEAR His Words, and DO them; then, we will have a kind of life that is UNBREAKABLE.
Happy Free Day and God bless us all!
